Bio

Terry Adams is an expert in architecture, design and project management. He received his Bachelor's of Architecture from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1993.  He worked at several prestigious firms thereafter, gaining experience in both residential and commercial architecture before founding his own firm in 2002.   Since that time he has been directly involved in the design, management and project development of residential, commercial and historical preservation projects.  He served as a member of the Historical Commission of Geneva, IL for 20 years and has a wide range of experience in historical preservation and the permit process.  He also serves as an advisor and Project Manager to a well-respected architecture firm in the Chicago suburbs, managing large commercial projects for national corporations.

“The success of any project is related to the experience of the design professional and the collaboration that takes place with the client.  Following an initial phone conversation to determine the client's needs we like to establish a working relationship with a personal meeting.  Thereafter we will submit a written proposal before any work begins.  Our written proposal will take into consideration the scope of the project, regional architecture character, building construction, energy conservation and your budget. We believe that communication is the key to the project meeting our client's expectations. We maintain a small firm, which means that not only are we highly accessible to our clients during the phases of the project, but also we can keep costs down, unlike many large firms.  However, we have the experience and ability to take on projects of all sizes, both commercial and residential.”

Personal. . .

Terry grew up in a small town in Illinois and has lived throughout the State.  He married his high school sweetheart.  He and his wife, Michelle, have lived in Geneva for 25 years and have three children.  His wife is an attorney and business consultant.  They own a small retail and catering business in downtown Geneva, as well as an online business that ships nationwide.  The Adams family is active in their community and often donate to local organizations and charities.  Terry enjoys being involved in his children's sports, as well as fishing, boating and traveling.    They are currently obsessed with the pond they built and landscaped in their backyard as a family project.
