Terry J. Adams Architect
Terry Adams received his Bachelor's of Architecture from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1993. He worked at several prestigious firms thereafter, gaining experience in both residential and commercial architecture before founding his own firm in 2002. Since that time he has been directly involved in the design, management and project development of residential, commercial and historical preservation projects. He served as a member of the Historical Commission of Geneva, IL for 20 years and has a wide range of experience in historical preservation and the permit process. He also serves as an advisor and Project Manager to a well-respected architecture firm in the Chicago suburbs, managing large commercial projects for national corporations.
The success of any project is related to the experience of the design professional and the collaboration that takes place with the client. Following an initial phone conversation to determine the client's needs we like to establish a working relationship with a personal meeting. Thereafter we will submit a written proposal before any work begins. Our written proposal will take into consideration the scope of the project, regional architecture character, building construction, energy conservation and your budget.
We believe that communication is the key to the project meeting our client's expectations. For instance, when we designed The Sugar Path storefront in Geneva, IL it was important to the client to maintain a vintage feel inside the shop. Knowing this, we were able to help the client achieve the look for its shop and we even hand-crafted the reclaimed wood bar, display case and tables. We push for amazing at all times.
We maintain a small firm, which means that not only are we highly accessible to our clients during the phases of the project, but also we can keep costs down, unlike many large firms. However, we have the experience and ability to take on projects of all sizes, both commercial and residential.
